BUWAN NG WIKA

In August, we celebrate 'Buwan ng Wika,' a Filipino celebration that encourages and promotes the traditional Filipino language and culture to our students. Although an international school, we find it vitally important to portray the beauty of diversity while actively raising awareness of the Filipino culture's traditional features.

During 'Buwan ng Wika,' students perform to their classmates as they savor on the Salo-salo of food representing different regions. The Larong Pinoy such as Patintero, Piko, Agawan Base, Tumbang Preso, Tubig Tubig Yelo, and the Chinese Garter.

Overall, the students enjoy dressing up, performing, eating, and playing games while simultaneously learning that language is both a culmination and an expression of culture.

UN DAY CELEBRATION

On October 24, Leaders celebrate UN Day to remember the United Nations' organization and its agenda of promoting human rights, diversity, and progress across the world. Moreover, students from Grades 3-9 prepare booths to discuss the environmental issue affecting many countries in today's world. During this day, the students learn to focus on a macro-perspective on the world and attempt to solve global issues and provide solutions.

FIELD TRIP

Every year the students are taken on a trip to many famous and memorable places around Metro Manila to learn and appreciate more about the Philippines and its culture. To take a step out of the classroom and to explore and experience the world around them. Students in Leaders have gone to factories, farms, military camps, and national parks and museums. Overall, field trips are an excellent activity that exposes the students to worlds outside their own.

GOSPEL SHARING

In Leaders it is our goal to help students become more like Christ. The school’s programs and curriculum are all based on a Christian worldview. In addition, all faculty members are dedicated to helping students become closer to God. We teach the kids not only about academics but about spiritually. Teaching them the fruits of the Holy Spirit that would build their character and love for others. To become more generous and forgiving like Jesus Christ. Overall, it is important that each student in Leaders believes in God, and is able to share His word to others.
