Grade School · Grades 1–6

Strong foundations. Growing independence.

The Grade School years at Leaders bring academic learning into conversation, practical work, and everyday responsibility. Children learn to explain their ideas, work with others, and grow in Christian character.

Academic foundations

A full academic week.

From Grades 1–6, students study language, numbers, the natural world, faith, and the communities around them. The academic program includes:

  • English
  • Mathematics
  • Science
  • Bible
  • Filipino
  • Social Studies
  • MAPEH
  • Technology

Grades 4–6 also have Life Skills and Penmanship.

Inside the classroom

Ideas take shape through doing.

Discussions, hands-on activities, group work, creative projects, and presentations give students different ways to work with what they are learning. Examples include experiments, cooking activities, art, dioramas, and collaborative projects. Activities vary by grade and lesson.

Room to notice

Knowing when to help. Knowing when to challenge.

With one section per grade and an approximately 10:1 school-wide student-teacher ratio, teachers have more opportunity to notice who needs support and who is ready for a greater challenge. The ratio describes the school as a whole, not an exact class size.

Faith in the school week

Begin with devotion. Carry faith into the day.

Morning devotion includes prayer, worship, and Scripture. Bible lessons, prayer during the school day, weekly chapel, and small-group discussions give Christian formation a regular place in students’ lives.

Fun Fridays

Fridays are school-wide non-uniform half-days, with chapel, small groups, and clubs such as music and sports. These activities belong to the school week, rather than a separate regular after-school program.

Friday club activities include Theatre, Sports, Science, Newsletter, and Glee Club. Participation and activities vary by grade and schedule; not every club operates for every grade.

Looking toward Junior High

More ready for what comes next.

By the end of Grade 6, Leaders aims to help students build academic foundations, communicate with confidence, take responsibility, and grow in Christian character. These are the habits and capabilities students carry into the next stage of school.
